Priority goes to individuals who are waiting for day support from Building Futures.

Attendees can also be participants from our day program who usually come with their own support person.

question mark

How does it work?

Interested individuals register for a specific session through our online registration. Our staff will collaborate with you and your home supports to understand your specific needs, goals, and interests to provide the best possible experience for you.

Do I need to bring a support person or helper with me?

First time attendees MUST attend with a home support for us to have the opportunity to get to know you the best way possible.

You will need to bring a support person, or helper, if you need it for any of these safety reasons:

  • If you might leave on your own and this would not be safe for you.
  • If you might have behaviour, or impulse control issues, that would make it unsafe for you or for others.
  • If you have severe health issues that mean you need to have always trained medical support with you.

Some people also choose to bring a helper, but they do not have to have one. Reasons that you might choose to bring extra support are:

  • If you would like a helper who knows you well to help you communicate
  • If you would like a helper to help you feel confident or less anxious.
  • If you would like someone that you know well for your personal care needs.
  • Many people bring a helper during the first few weeks that they attend, to help them settle in.

Futures Connect will have 3-5 support staff and volunteers on site for every session.
