Purpose
The Building Futures Volunteer program aims to enhance our impact in the wider community, creating a more inclusive, accepting environment while also providing individuals with valuable experiences and skill development that fill a gap within the organization.
How Our Volunteer Program Works
Volunteers help increase capacity through fundraising activities, providing supports that would otherwise be challenging or unavailable, and empower Futures participants through mentorship and inclusion, fostering a sense of community.

Volunteer Requirements
- Must be a minimum of 16 years of age. Any volunteers under the age of 16, must have an adult present.
- Criminal record check within 3 months of start if working directly with the people we support.
- Commitment of time.
- Some experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities, but not mandatory.
- Positive attitude and openness to learn.
- Training:* Volunteers will receive a general orientation of the organization and the people we support. Specific project training will be determined by the task.
Personal Interests
Futures believes that volunteering is most fulfilling when it aligns with a person's personal interests and passions. We encourage volunteers to bring forth any expertise or knowledge they can share with our participants and staff.
